If you would like to meet like-minded people, pursue your interests and develop new ones, in small friendly groups and, if you’re now at a stage in life when work and other commitments have decreased, come and join us, expand your horizons and make new friends.
Our national motto is ''learn, laugh, live', and our aim is to provide for your ongoing development and well-being in the so called Third Age. u3a is about keeping active, mentally, physically and socially when full time employment has ended. We encourage you to learn for pleasure, gain new skills, try new experiences and visit new places as part of our various interest groups and to make new friends.

Membership of Shoreham & Southwick u3a entitles you to:
- Sign up for our Interest Groups and other visits and events
- Monthly bulletin with news of our activities and forthcoming events
- Half yearly newsletter with information about groups and other interest
- Attend our Monthly Friday Events
After you have joined our u3a you will be invited to a New Members' Meeting where you will meet Committee members and other new members and have the opportunity to ask any questions about our u3a.
Membership Fees
Our membership year starts on 1st August each year, but if you wish to join from the 1st of February we offer half year memberships at the following rates:
Full £25.00 Limited £15.00
For 2026, we have 2 levels of membership:
Full membership - entitles you to attend any of our groups, subject to availability, and the Monthly Friday Events, with no further room or Monthly Friday Event charges.
The annual membership cost is £45.00.
Limited membership - entitles you to attend a limited range of groups, subject to availability, and including the Monthly Friday Events, with no further Monthly Friday Event charges.
The annual membership cost is £20.00.
